A Personal Message from Jean
My dear ones who share this path, as we enter this New Year of 2011, I trust you will join me in preparing y/our heart, mind, and spirit for this moment in time. I ask for clarity of focus, for guidance, purposive alignment, right relation and right action, as we connect with our Source for renewal of our energy and life force, so we are prepared to continue our evolving, shared journey in Caring Science as Sacred Science.
As we make the transition from one year to another, I invite you to join me in a quiet moment of inspiration, as we breathe in the many blessings, if not miracles, we have experienced and witnessed in 2010. These blessings have manifest through y/our devotion, informed knowledge, moral actions, and shared dedication to give and receive as we authentically honor self, other and the systems we reach.
It is through the evolving mission of WCSI and your participation in this special privileged work, that we are witnessing the betterment of human-life, and caring-healing experiences for those whom we touch.
I continue to be in awe at the passion, talents, gifts, and abilities you offer for the compassionate service, and visionary possibilities we bring for the continuing creative, authentic emergence of WCSI and its programs and activities that touch our shared humanity. For that and for you, I sincerely am grateful and offer my thanksgiving to each of you, to each of us and all in our Caritas field family.

WCSI News:
Transition for COO/CNO Jim D'Alfonso
In the midst of change and transitions between years and seasons, the latest WCSI news includes the joyful, yet bittersweet transition for Jim D’Alfonso. As many, if not all of you know, Jim has served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nurse Executive since November 2008, helping to launch the formal administrative structure and organization of WCSI as a new non-profit formal operating entity.
In January, Jim will be relocating to Northern California where he will transition into his new role as Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals at Fremont Medical Center. The Kaiser Permanente executive commitment to a culture of Caring Science and Jim’s established executive leadership background were a wonderful fit and valued match for this important life and career direction. For those wondering, many of Jim’s operational responsibilities will continue to be handled without any disruption, under the management of Barbara Hope and White Knight Productions, who have been managing many of WCSI operations since its origin.
Due to Jim’s loving leadership, tireless devotion and creative spirit WCSI has been able to expand WCSI programs and services beyond our expectations. Jim’s energy has nurtured and fueled our growth, from the continuous evolution of the Caritas Coach Education Program to the emergence of the new Introduction to Human Caring Program and beyond. The good news is, Jim will continue to offer his passion and talents toward our shared Caritas journey, but in new and different ways in 2011.
Jim remains deeply committed to support the continuous expansion of Caring Science along side our faculty associates, leadership teams and board, which will be made possible by Jim’s appointment to WCSI’s Advisory Board of Directors where he will serve as an Advisor for Caring Science Education and Clinical Programs. In addition, Jim will assume a new role as Senior Faculty Associate and Mentor, supporting and collaborating closely with our distinguished Faculty Associates, Clinical Faculty Associates and Program Directors as we continue to co-create and expand programs and services in harmony with WCSI’s core mission and vision.
Visit our website to view the current WCSI Board of Directors and Advisory Board Members.
I am sure you will agree, Jim’s many contributions and deep love for this work has blessed us all in many ways during these early formative years of WCSI. We offer our sincere joy and congratulations on his new position with Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and our heart-felt gratitude for his continuous participation with us, contributing to the evolving success of WCSI. Please join me in extending our love and blessings to Jim as he makes these important life-career transitions in the coming months.
