Carol Wadsworth is a contract employee who has worked with Watson Caring Science Institute since 2010. She was hired as a website designer, but also assisted with marketing, operations and various other projects where needed. She was promoted to Marketing Director in December 2022 and is focusing on WCSI’s branding, logo usage, intellectual property and external communications. She will be responsible for ensuring the adequate and timely promotion of WCSI events, programs and initiatives.
Carol worked for several years in management positions in hospitality and service industries but accredits much of her skill set from working for Information Mapping, Inc., a training and consulting company that taught a systematic approach to organizing and presenting information based on the needs and expectations of the reader. Her 9 year history with IMI included support and leadership roles in Customer Service, Technical Support, Marketing, Research & Development and Operations. Two key moments of her career included working with a cross-functional team to assist in re-inventing the company as well as strategic planning and positioning. The other was as the lead auditor and strategic contributor to ISO 9001 documentation, implementation, and certification of the company, developing, training and leading corrective and preventative action programs.
She later worked as a Project Operations Manager assisting in business operations and planning for a small knowledge management firm using the Information Mapping methodology for companies in the bioscience, medical, and technology sectors. She also managed multiple writers, graphic designers and production personnel and provided copy editing, proof reading, and production work.
After working for a software start-up and an energy company, she decided to leave the corporate world behind and start her own business in 2006. With no formal training (and a lot of encouragement from her twin sister and support from her husband), she started, BeezDezines (pronounced bees designs) and became a self-taught website and graphic designer, creating and maintaining websites for a broad client base of small and medium-sized businesses, creating copy and design for newsletter campaigns, social media, as well as, event planning, logo design, t-shirts, business cards, postcards, flyers and brochures.
Carol has a strong customer focus, is highly process-oriented and has a keen ability to identify potential issues and opportunities that may impact the potential of a project or situation. She loves to engage in brainstorming sessions identifying new concepts, innovative ideas, and solutions and prides herself on being resourceful, responsive and dependable.
Carol is a mid-westerner at heart (Ohio, Illinois) but has lived in Massachusetts since 1986. She currently lives in Carver, MA with her husband Buzz and 3 rescued cats, Murph, Monti & Emma. She is vegan, an animal rights supporter and loves to work in the gardens around her home.
