Deborah Conway is a Project Leader on the South Sacramento Permanente Medical Group Executive Operations Team, where she helps advance leadership and people development, care experience, and continuous improvement priorities. During her 25 years with Kaiser Permanente, she has held a range of local and regional leadership roles in both Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Permanente medicine including risk management, patient safety, accreditation, regulation, and licensing.
Before joining South Sacramento, Deborah partnered with colleagues to develop and manage the Regional TPMG Legal Department’s Policy Management Program. Earlier in her professional career, she held local and regional leadership roles with Aetna in health plan quality management and practiced pediatric nursing and law.
Deborah is especially energized by work that strengthens leaders, teams, and culture. She enjoys leading the growth and development of teams and leaders, connecting patient voice to initiatives aimed at improving the care experience through the Person and Family Centered Care Program, and serving as a regular facilitator for Greater Sacramento’s Culture Orientation. In a medical center where MBTI serves as a foundational tool for leaders and teams, Deborah is also one of two certified Myers-Briggs practitioners supporting that work.
Deborah holds a BSN from Florida Atlantic University, a BS in Health Education from the University of Florida, and a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. Deborah also holds the following certifications: Caritas Coach® through the Watson Caring Science Institute; facilitator, Healing Circles Global and HeartMath Certified Trainer.
