Theme: Unitary Caring Science: Throwing the Road Out Ahead Amidst Global Pandemic

October 22-23, 2020 | VIRTUAL

Hosted virtually by Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy – College of Health Professions

Join us for an innovative, collaborative and energizing two-day professional practice (virtual) gathering that unites health care professionals and committed individuals from various clinical and educational systems who are actively engaged in applying Caring Science and the Theory of Human Caring.

This year, the ICC is graciously and lovingly co-sponsored by WCSI Affiliate, Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy, setting an exciting precedent for creative collaboration between Practice & Education. Accordingly, Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy are honored to hold space for insight, inquiry, innovation and imagination as we explore and embrace the connections shared among patients, families, students, inter-professional colleagues, community and the environment.

Coming together to share stories, insights and inspiration is at the heart of our International Caritas Consortium (ICC) gathering. Accordingly, the ICC has proven to be an intimate forum to restore and deepen each person’s and each system’s commitment and authentic practices of human caring-healing in our personal/professional life and work. Participants learn from each other through shared work of original scholarship, diverse forms of caring inquiry, caring pedagogy, and exploration of caring-healing practices.
