Theme: Unitary Caring Science: Throwing the Road Out Ahead Amidst Global Pandemic

Experience the Communitas of ICC in a virtual format
October 19-23, 2020 | VIRTUAL

Hosted virtually by Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy – College of Health Professions

Deepen your relationship with Unitary Caring Science through live and pre-recorded sessions planned to span the week of October 19-23. A range of presenters and topics have been selected for presentations (both live and pre-recorded) highlighting accomplishments of the Caritas Community, each eligible for continuing education credit.

Prepare to enter our sacred time together with pre-gathering reflective and self-care activities planned for the days leading up to the featured live presentations. Remain in the sacred space by accessing recorded presentations following the consortium gathering.

Join us each day as we gather in opening circle with Jean live!

This year, the ICC is graciously and lovingly co-sponsored by WCSI Affiliate, Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy, setting an exciting precedent for creative collaboration between Practice & Education. Accordingly, Ascension St. John Hospital and University of Detroit Mercy are honored to hold space for insight, inquiry, innovation and imagination as we explore and embrace the connections shared among patients, families, students, inter-professional colleagues, community and the environment.

Coming together to share stories, insights and inspiration is at the heart of our International Caritas Consortium (ICC) gathering. Accordingly, the ICC has proven to be an intimate forum to restore and deepen each person’s and each system’s commitment and authentic practices of human caring-healing in our personal/professional life and work. Participants learn from each other through shared work of original scholarship, diverse forms of caring inquiry, caring pedagogy, and exploration of caring-healing practices.

Live and pre-recorded sessions along with Caring Interludes will be available throughout the week with keynote speakers presenting on 10/22 and 10/23.
