Sarah Abdolcader is a Bay Area native, born and raised in Oakland, California. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree at St Mary’s University/Samuel Merritt College in 2006. Sarah accomplished her Master of Science in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Leader, at the University of San Francisco in 2017. She started her career at Kaiser in the Medical Surgical Unit and then completed a training program to become a Labor and Delivery/Postpartum nurse. For 6 years, she has worked as the Perinatal Educator at Kaiser San Francisco where she was instrumental in Perinatal Specialty Training Programs and enculturating high quality nursing. Her nursing leadership has cultivated nurses to become Staff Nurse III’s and IV’s and encouraged nurses to further their education to elevate nursing practice. In 2021, Sarah assumed a position in the Northern California (NCAL) Region as a Clinical Practice Consultant for the Kaiser Permanente (KP) New Grad Nursing Residency Training Program. She exercised her experience to help develop curriculum and organize the program for entry level Medical Surgical/Telemetry nurses across KP NCAL’s 21 medical centers. In 2025, the esteemed Daisy Nurse Leader Award recognized Sarah for her impactful and meaningful leadership throughout NCAL. Recently, in June 2025, Sarah completed the Caritas Coach Education Program, designated as a Caritas Coach, and is now a Caritas Faculty.
In 2023, Sarah transferred to NCAL’s Practice Excellence, Clinical Education and Professional Practice Team where she utilizes her expertise for strategic initiatives and constructing an NCAL Acute Care Re-entry Transition Training Program for experienced nurses entering the acute care setting. The inaugural cohort launched in Fall of 2024. Additionally, since 2023 to present Sarah is on the Sigma Theta Tau: Beta Gamma Chapter Board as the treasurer.
Sarah’s colleagues describe her as energetic, hard-working, positive, immensely supportive, open to learning, an enthusiastic teacher and attentive to detail. She inspires others to do/be the best they can be, fostering a culture of excellence.
On a personal note, Sarah is married to her husband, Yahya and together they have 6 kids ranging in ages 14-24 years old. She is a foodie and has a sweet tooth. She enjoys hiking, lounging at beaches and shopping!
