Research Scientist
Dr. Lindsey M. Tarasenko is a hospital-based research scientist and assistant professor at an R1 research university. She brings clinical expertise in adult inpatient and pediatric ambulatory care nursing and has served as a Magnet Program Director. She holds a PhD in Nursing with a focus on health care systems research using mixed methods and innovative multimethod designs. Her dissertation was recognized with the Distinguished Dissertation Award for its methodological rigor and tool development.
With extensive independent research experience, Dr. Tarasenko has led studies on clinical nurse and nurse leader practice environments, professional governance, and clinical-academic-community partnerships. Her work demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing nursing science through clinical inquiry, mentorship, and collaborative engagement. She has underscored the critical role of nurses practicing at the top of their scope, delivering high-quality care and leadership guided by evidence, and engaging in professional reflection, interdisciplinary problem-solving, and decision-making. Through her research, she seeks to honor participants’ values and humanity, generating insights that inform innovative strategies to heal and sustain the nursing profession and discipline
To extend her national and global impact, Dr. Tarasenko contributes as a researcher with the Verran Professional Governance Scale© Research Team and the Watson Caring Science Institute. She serves on the research committee of the Western Institute of Nursing and is a founding member of the Colorado Nurse Scientist Network. In recognition of her innovative research methods and dedication to the profession, she received the 2024 Colorado Nurses Foundation Luminary Award for Exceptional Achievement in Nursing Research.
