Kindra Brooks is a Senior Clinical Development Nurse with Kaiser Permanente and an ANCC-certified Nursing Professional Development specialist. Since becoming a nurse in 2010, she has been dedicated to supporting the growth, well-being, and professional development of healthcare professionals. Prior to nursing, Kindra enjoyed a successful ten-year career as a chemist, bringing a unique perspective to her work in healthcare education and leadership.
Kindra earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Samuel Merritt University, where her scholarship focused on mindfulness, self-care, and healthcare professional well-being. She became a HeartMath® Practitioner and a Caritas Coach® in 2024, integrating Caring Science, resilience practices, and heart-centered approaches to foster healing environments for caregivers and those they serve. Her professional interests include nurse residency programs, leadership development, workforce well-being, and creating cultures of belonging and compassion.
Kindra is the author of the memoir Where I Belong, a reflection on identity, purpose, and finding one’s voice. She has been married for 23 years and is the proud mother of three children. Through her work and personal journey, she is committed to helping others cultivate self-compassion, authentic leadership, and human flourishing.
