Dr. Jane Vergara is a dedicated nurse leader, educator, and mentor with over 20 years of rich and diverse experience in the nursing profession. Born and raised in the Philippines, she began her journey in healthcare at the prestigious University of Santo Tomas—the oldest Catholic university in Asia—where she earned her nursing degree and developed a deep appreciation for the integration of faith, compassion, and clinical excellence.
Dr. Vergara holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and is board-certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN), Oncology Nursing (OCN), and Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC). In her current role as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist, she plays a vital role in shaping the growth and success of nurses across all stages of their careers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and compassionate care.
Her passion for teaching was ignited during her time as a clinical instructor for BSN students in Southern California—a role that revealed her true calling to educate, mentor, and inspire. She believes that teaching is more than the transmission of knowledge; it is a sacred opportunity to empower others, nurture their potential, and guide them toward purposeful, values-driven practice.
As a Caritas Faculty member, Dr. Vergara is honored to contribute to a mission that mirrors her own values of service, human dignity, and love. She is committed to cultivating a learning environment where future nurses are not only clinically competent but also deeply compassionate, grounded in the healing spirit of Caritas.
