Joanne Groves brings more than 30 years of nursing experience and a career distinguished by progressive leadership, operational excellence, quality improvement, and program and project management. Her early clinical experience in emergency, trauma, and intensive care continues to inform her approach to leading complex healthcare environments and supporting those who provide care.
Throughout her career, Joanne has held heart and human dignity at the center of her leadership philosophy. She is passionate about building cultures where patients, families, and healthcare professionals feel seen, valued, and cared for, while fostering accountability, excellence, and meaningful human connection. This commitment led her to become a Caritas Leader and Coach and a certified HeartMath instructor, further strengthening her work to integrate caring science and compassionate leadership into healthcare organizations.
Joanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Sacramento, and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco. She is board certified in Executive Nursing Practice by the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and is an active member of professional organizations including the Association of California Nurse Leaders and the International Association for Human Caring.
Above all, Joanne is a devoted mother of five adult children, ages 23–31. She finds joy in family time, travel, mentorship, and lifelong learning. She is deeply committed to developing others and expanding caring consciousness in nursing leadership, healthcare, and the communities she encounters.
