With over 28 years at Kaiser Permanente, Rayne Soriano has been a steadfast leader in nursing education, informatics, and professional practice. As the Regional Director of Professional Excellence at the Caring Science Academy and KP Scholars Academy, he spearheads initiatives in professional practice, academic progression, research, evidence-based programs, and education—fostering excellence in nursing and healthcare leadership.

Previously, as Hawaii Regional Director of Operations and Nursing Professional Practice, Rayne oversaw nursing practice, informatics, and education across inpatient and ambulatory settings. His leadership extended to NCAL Resource Stewardship, where he advanced Care Without Delay pathways and improved emergency department dispositions. As Director of NCAL Medicare Operations, he enhanced care for elderly populations, and as Manager of Clinical Informatics, he played a pivotal role in technology innovation and the enterprise-wide implementation of KP HealthConnect across 21 hospitals.

With over a decade of emergency nursing experience, Rayne is certified in Performance Improvement, Strategic Leadership, and Advanced Management. A Caritas Coach®, KP CCEP Caritas Faculty Member, and Certified HeartMath® Instructor, he is deeply committed to integrating Caring Science into nursing leadership and education. In recognition of his impact as an educator and mentor, Rayne was honored as the 2025 Recipient of the DAISY Faculty Award.

As President of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders in Hawaii, he champions the professional growth of nursing leaders. He also teaches at Chamberlain University’s Master’s program and the University of San Francisco’s Master’s and DNP programs.

Rayne holds a BSN from the University of San Francisco, an MS in Nursing Education from Sacramento State University, and a Ph.D. in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership from UC Davis. He is a sought-after mentor, speaker, and published author, dedicated to advancing the nursing profession. Above all, he is a devoted husband, son, and father of three, finding joy in family, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
