Renata McAllister is a Consultant with Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s Scholars Academy within Patient Care Services Professional Excellence, where she supports workforce development, professional advancement pathways, and programs that strengthen the people behind the care. She joined Kaiser Permanente in 2017 during a formidable fire season, an experience that showed her caregivers showing up for patients and one another amid catastrophe, shaping her enduring orientation toward the humans doing the work. She previously served as Care Experience Practice Leader at Santa Rosa Kaiser Permanente Hospital, where person-centered care and the caregiver experience were the heart of her practice.

Renata holds a Master of Arts in Organization Development and is a Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP). A graduate of the Caritas Coach Education Program®. She is also a certified MBTI practitioner, a student of the Enneagram, and a certified HeartMath trainer and resilience facilitator, with additional training through the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. Her practice integrates emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and mind-body approaches to address burnout, build resilience, and sustain authentic caring-healing relationships.

Renata is a doctoral candidate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and her dissertation research examines nurses’ knowledge of and attitudes toward near-death experiences, as part of a broader research interest in how transformative and transpersonal experiences shape the way people care, lead, and live. Her work is deeply aligned with Watson’s Theory of Human Caring: she believes professional development and inner growth are not separate tracks, and that caring for those who care is the foundation of healing organizations.
