Shandra Houtchens (formerly Kight) is a compassionate and visionary nursing leader with over 15 years of experience. Her journey into leadership was inspired by a personal journey in 2018, (you can read part of it in Miracles and Mysteries; Witnessed by Nurses 2019) culminating in a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Leadership and Healthcare Systems in 2021.
She is a Certified Caritas Coach® with specialized expertise in Jean Watson’s Caring Science and Human Caring Theory, as well as Human-Centered Leadership.
Currently, Shandra serves as the Associate Clinical Manager for the Special Care Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she leads with empathy, collaboration, and a deep commitment to holistic, evidence-based care. Her leadership has been recognized with the Excellence in Nursing Luminary Award.
