Thuy is a Healthcare Ombuds Mediator at Kaiser Permanente. In her role, she is a neutral and confidential mediator who works with patients, families and members of the care team when an unexpected adverse event has occurred. Her role requires her to be fully present with a soft heart and without judgment or an agenda. She became certified as a Caritas Coach in 2025 and since then, she has applied every Caritas process in her professional and personal life. When going through the Caritas Coach journey, she committed to being open and vulnerable and in turn, the Caritas Community responded with lovingkindness and acceptance. The Caritas Coach journey has taught and encouraged her to pause, feel, and experience everyday life with more softness. She can now see how forgiveness, gratitude, surrender and human service are inter-connected to foster compassion for self and others in all facets of our lives.
Thuy is grateful to be part of the Caring Science Community and is excited to serve on the faculty. She looks forward to sharing what she has learned and also to continue to learn from her fellow coaches.
