Nursing Professional Development Manager, Kaiser Permanente
WCSI Caritas Coach ®
KP CCEP Faculty

I am the Manager/Lead Educator in the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) department at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael in Northern California. My early career was a special education teacher before becoming a nurse 19 years ago. Eight years ago, I was privileged to move into the inpatient nurse education department and combine my two career passions, teaching, and nursing. All things Evidence Based Practice and research fuel my interests to better care for our staff and patients.

Being  introduced to Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring® in 2010 as a bedside Registered Nurse. I saw firsthand how this had a positive impact on frontline staff and our patients. It was not until taking the Caring Science® course series and then becoming a Caritas Coach® that I truly immersed myself in the wonders this life-altering theory avails. As Jean Watson shares in her 10 Caritas Processes®, recognizing our shared humanity and opening ourselves to allow for the unknown we see miracles happen in small moments and larger ways.

I feel privileged to be an instructor and help foster this transformative journey with others through the Caritas Coach Education Program®
