Dr. Watson's Legacy
Dr. Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, LL (AAN), is a Distinguished Professor and Dean Emerita who held the nation's first endowed Chair in Caring Science. She has been honored as a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing, the Academy's highest recognition of honor.
Her Theory of Human Caring and Caring Science has transformed nursing education and practice worldwide. Hospitals, academic institutions, and healthcare systems globally now base their professional practice models on Watson's Caring Science Theory, improving patient care and reducing staff burnout.

What is WCSI?
The Watson Caring Science Institute is an 501C3 international non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing the unitary philosophies, theories, and practices of Caring Science, developed by Dr. Jean Watson. We're here to support nurses and caring professionals worldwide in transforming healthcare through human-centered care.
Unlike many organizations in our field, WCSI is not affiliated with any university, nor do we receive regular or institutional funding of any kind. We exist entirely through the strength of our programs, the generosity of donors, and the commitment of members like you. Your membership directly sustains our core operational costs and makes everything we do possible!
