Dr. Malia La Vallee holds a position of clinical practice consultant for Kaiser Permanente for Northern California. Malia also holds a part time faculty role at California State University, Sacramento in the School of Nursing. Malia is a well-known nurse educator in professional development and healthcare simulation. In her roles as a Caritas Coach and a Heart Math Trainer, Malia embodies the art and science of nursing by leading interprofessional teams in the delivery of compassionate care, evidence-informed, patient-centered care. Her years of nursing leadership, passion for teaching, and diverse clinical background, lead her to become certified as a CCRN and CHSE and licensed as public health nurse, as well as an EMT. Malia is an Improvement Advisor and DNP prepared nurse who works tirelessly in improving health care outcomes in both academic and clinical settings. Malia has empowered new graduate nurses as they transition into practice and fostered learning of novice nurses across the health care continuum. Malia has spoken at National and International conferences on her research regarding moral resiliency with Caring Science and Heart Science and continues to be active in research with the Caritas Processes® and Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging.
