Caritas Coach®
WCSI CCEP® Faculty

This is me with Dr. Jean Watson – a photo I cherish, as I have been very involved with Caring Science for many years since seeing Dr. Watson speak at the Tampa VA in 2014. I became a Caritas Coach in 2021 and apply the concepts of lovingkindness wherever I go, along with the healing, authentic heart-centered concepts of Caring Science and Communitas! I am so honored to have been one of the founding initiators and facilitators of the Caritas Healing Connections that occur the 3rd Saturday of every month on Zoom. I am also the Employee Whole Health (EWH) Coordinator for the Wilmington, Delaware VA Medical Center! I am originally from the Philadelphia NW suburbs but ventured West in 1991 and have lived in several states (NM, CO, AZ, HI, FL….) and out of the country.

I was the EWH Program Manager in Phoenix for a couple years and bring with me expertise in complementary integrative health (acupuncture, iRest yoga nidra, guided imagery, mindfulness and yoga). I have master’s degrees in public health, nursing and acupuncture. In 2019 I obtained my doctorate in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have been an acupuncturist since 2004 and trained in Boulder, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico. I had the fortunate opportunity to be one of the Employee Whole Health Champions for the Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation (OPCC & CT) and was an EWH Education Champion for VISN 22. I have a background within the VA of health promotion disease prevention (HPDP), progressive care nursing and prior to 2014 – was a burn nurse at UNC Chapel Hill. My first career of 26 years was as a dental hygienist.
I am so honored to be here as part of the esteemed CCEP faculty to help you on your Caritas Coach Journey!
