Grissel Hernandez, MPH, BSN, RN, HNB-BC is a PhD student at University of Colorado, College of Nursing in the Caring Science track. Grissel is also a nationally board certified holistic nurse and Watson Caritas Coach®.
She has presented at national and international conferences and written several articles in the areas of self-care for nurses and leadership development.
Grissel’s nursing experience includes direct patient care and nursing administration in acute care and ambulatory care settings, curriculum and program development, staff and leadership development, maternal-child health, integrative therapies, holistic nursing, research, and patient family education. She has over 20 years of work experience in Magnet and Baldrige designated organizations and is an appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Pathways to Excellence and Accreditation Programs.
Grissel is a Faculty Associate for Watson Caring Science Institute and works as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, California and one of her main responsibilities is caring science integration.
Grissel has made it her life’s mission to share her patient experience and teach healthcare providers about the healing power of compassion, authentic presence, reflection, intentionality and gratitude.
She was born in Puerto Rico and currently resides in San Jose, California.
