Dr. Susan E. Mazer to receive Visionary Caring Science Leadership Award

Deerfield, FL — February 2023: Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI) and Founder/Director Dr. Jean Watson are pleased to announce Dr. Susan E. Mazer as the 5th recipient of the prestigious Visionary Caring Science Leadership Award.

Susan E. Mazer, PhD, Chief Knowledge Officer and co-founder of Healing HealthCare Systems, is a thought leader and knowledge expert on how the environment of care directly impacts the patient experience. Dr. Mazer is a well-published author, having written articles and white papers for major healthcare journals and periodicals focusing on noise in hospitals, speech privacy, patient safety, elder care, and other related topics. Susan writes about the patient experience in a blog which can be found at www.susanmazer.com. Susan and her husband, Dallas Smith, produced and performed the music on Dr. Watson’s recording, Private Psalms. She is an internationally known harpist, having recorded more than 20 albums.
