Stanford Health Care

The Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI) recently designated Stanford Health Care as one of its international Caring Science Affiliate Organizations. The designation recognizes Stanford Health Care’s exemplary integration of caring theory and leadership commitment to evidence-informed caring science practices, research and scholarship.

The WSCI is an international non-profit foundation that advances the philosophies, theories and practices of human caring. It was founded by Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, who serves as director.

To become a caring affiliate, an organization must demonstrate deep-rooted and sustainable commitment to integrating caring science to transform and broaden the notion of health and healing for its staff, as well as patients, families and the surrounding community. Our professional practice model incorporates the caring theory process as the basis of our practice, recognized as a Magnet hospital by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Dr. Watson will be the Guest Speaker during Stanford Health Care Nursing Grand Rounds on Tuesday, April 25, 2015 from 3:30 to 4:30 at the LPCH Auditorium.

Each month, SHC hosts the Nursing Grand Rounds and brings distinguished speakers to promote and explore excellence, leadership and scholarship in nursing.
